Please reach me at jenna@gritgraceglow.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I help people with behavior and habit change with empathy and no judgment. I work with your likes and dislikes to gradually change habits to healthier ones specific to your goals. We help connect your doctor’s orders with real life (i.e., lose weight, decrease blood pressure, blood sugar, or inflammation, etc.). We help you execute a plan to improve lifestyle and health in accordance with your individual goals and your health practitioner’s instructions.
When your life has turned into a series of Groundhog’s Day and you can’t figure out how to get out of the vicious loop and start changing, it’s time to call a coach.
As a coach I will help you attain your goals, identify and break through limiting beliefs, and ask you tough questions so that you can live the life you really want. I will not boss you around or tell you what to do. I will offer fresh perspectives, support, and guidance while challenging you to reach higher and stretch for growth.
Therapy is for recovery and coaching is for discovery. Best way I like to think of it is that during coaching we often are talking about the present and the future, while in therapy you often are talking about the past.
Eating habits/nutrition, finances, health maintenance, life satisfaction, possible reduction of the medications you’re using, physical activity, sleep and relaxation, stress and weight management, relationships, spiritual practices, and mindset are all areas that you can discuss with a health coach. It’s your choice as to what you want to focus on to improve your well-being.
Diets have been proven to be ineffective long term where the yo-yoing effect can actually be more harmful than helpful. Health coaching takes a deeper and more holistic approach which will enable you to achieve lasting lifestyle and behavior change.
With health coaching, you'll learn what choices produce healthy outcomes and what tends to hinder healthy outcomes. You'll also be exposed to and encouraged to try new things that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. After being equipped with this knowledge and experience, you ultimately decide for yourself what health outcomes you want to achieve, then receive support in making the changes you choose to make to achieve your goals.
I do not. You can give a man to fish, or teach a man to fish; that’s how the story goes, right? It’s my goal to teach you how to create your own healthy plan, that is realistic for your life. It’s nearly impossible to follow a plan perfectly anyway unless you enjoy carrying Tupperware containers with you to every holiday event, birthday party, wedding, date night, etc. You can not live and enjoy life if you’re a slave to a strict meal plan (which also verges on disordered eating).
Absolutely no one! All shared information is confidential and kept secure. I follow HIPAA guidelines, which ensures the protection of privacy and your medical information.
Not health insurance, but many companies allow you to use your FSA/HSA. I just suggest you check with your company to see if there are guidelines or steps you must follow to get reimbursed.
